Petee's Frequently Asked Questions

Product Info (Allergies, Storage, etc.)

How long do the pies keep?

Fruit pies are best stored on the counter and eaten within 4 days of purchase.

Custard pies (including pumpkin and sweet potato) are best eaten within 2 days of purchase if stored on the counter, however they can also be refrigerated for up to a week.

Chess and nut pies can last up to a week on the counter.

Cream pies must be refrigerated and are best eaten within two days of purchase.

Meringue pies also must be refrigerated and are best eaten within 4 days of purchase.

What’s the best way to reheat my pie?

You can heat your pie by putting it uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.  The chess, nut, fruit, and even custard pies are lovely served warm.

Can I freeze my pie?

Naturally, we recommend eating our pies fresh, as soon as possible after purchase. However, many of our pies (fruit, custard, chess, and nut varieties) can be frozen for later. Wrap the pie tightly in plastic to freeze it, unwrap and thaw it completely, then reheat for 20 minutes at 350 degrees before serving.

I'm allergic to nuts, are your pies free of nuts?

The only pies that contain nuts are our Crumb Pies and any other pie that has a nut in its title such as Brown Butter Honey Pecan or Black Bottom Almond Chess. Our standard crust does not contain nuts. But do note that we do have nuts on site and pies maybe be baked in the same oven with a pie that contains nuts, so if you have a severe allergy we recommend that you steer clear.

What size are your pies?

Our pies measure 9 inches across.

How many servings are in each pie?

Our pies serve between 6-8 people. At our store, we typically cut 6 slices out the pies.

Where do you get your ingredients?

For our fillings, we use fresh ingredients from New York state when possible. Our standard crust is made with grassfed butter and organic NY state flour.
